1: WHAT IS AN XML SITEMAP.

is a file that enables a website admin to educate search engines about URLS on a site that is accessible.

is also a good way of letting search engines know that your website is available and can be crawled by them.

2: THE IMPORTANCE OF SITEMAP.

there is no side effects in having an xml sitemap and having one can improve your seo, so we strongly recommend you have them.

because a well structured sitemap will make your website searchable by all search engines, offering users with more accurate search results when they are looking for keywords that are associated with the content you provide on your site.

on the other hand (robot.txt) tells a search engine which part of the website not include for indexing and sitemap tells these search engines where you do like them to go.

that is to say that sitemap also help in your rankings

xml sitemap are important especially if:

i: your site is not well structured or well linked eg (internal links)

ii: your site has few external links

iii: your site is newly created

3: HOW TO GENERATE XML SITEMAP.

this method is valid for both regular blogger blog's that are using (blogspot.com) and also the self hosted blogger blog's that use a custom domain (example.com) 

here's what you need to do to disclose your blog's complete site structure to search engines with the help of an xml sitemap.

i: open the sitemap generator and type the full address of your blogger blog.

ii: click on the generate sitemap button and the tool will automatically create the xml file with your sitemap.

copy the first if your blog post is below 500

copy the other ones if you blog post in greater than 500.

we have to paste the xml file into our robot.txt section after that, we will also submit to google webmaster tool.

iii: next, go to your blogger.com dashboard, navigate to sittings->search preference section, enable custom robot.txt option that is available in the crawling and indexing section) paste the xml sitemap there and save it.

4: HOW TO SUBMIT XML SITEMAP TO GOOGLE WEBMASTER TOOL.

submitting a blogger sitemap is a way to tell google about your website on the blogspot platform.

google recognizes the posts and page on your site, by submitting a google search console sitemap, you can increase the crawl rate for your website.

now is time to submit our sitemap

i: Verify Ownership Of Your Site.

login to google search console and click (add site) then copy and paste the URL of your site into the field if your site is on blogger it will be automatically verified.

ii: Go To Index >> Sitemap.

on the left menu button choose your site and then visit sitemap under the index list.

iii: Submit Posts Sitemap.

enter the full URL of your site, followed by (/sitemap.xml) then click the submit button.

iv: submit pages sitemap.

enter the full URL of your site, followed by (/sitemap-pages.xml)

then again click the submit button.
